re the u.s current account deficit

the chinese and the japanese hold large quantities of u.s paper.
might it not be the case that those who hold american debt may feel that because of the sheer inventiveness of the united states and its history of wealth creation they need not worry?

the united states therefore is almost unique in this respect.

japan has a population of 125 million.has it been as inventive as the united states? the united states with a population of 295 million has won far more nobel prizes then is justified by the population differential.
japan is of course the greatest manufacturer in the world.

this is old hat but bears repeating.the american consumer is not paying the 'market price ' for gasoline.the price at the pump does not include the heavy military investment the united states is making to keep the oil flowing from the middle east.
