The Conservative lead has narrowed to a nine-month low of just two points and Gordon Brown appears to be outscoring David Cameron on a range of "character" issues, according to the latest Sunday Times-YouGov poll. The poll also shows that people are gloomy about their finances and the economy but not about house prices. The Brown-Cameron battle is going to be an interesting one. Further poll details here.

"Poll also shows that people are gloomy about their finances and the economy but not about house prices"
Sure... David... sure, house prices are untouchable. People are gloomy about the stock market, the bonds, their salaries, the weather, job security, and the NHS, but when they see "brick and mortar" become radiant, jubilant, they want to pay more and more and more because they are building their pensions, their retirement future, they have undefaultable insurance... all (and more) in bricks and mortar...
