US inflation - something for everybody
America's consumer prices rose by 0.7% last month, pushing the annual rate back up to 2.7%, from 2% in April. Higher gasoline prices provided the main contribution. But core prices (excluding energy and food) rose by only 0.1%, for a 12-month rate of 2.2%. Either way, US interest rates aren't coming down any time soon. Details here.

Apparently that 0.1% core inflation was actually 0.149%, so pretty close to being reported as 0.2%!!
